Radient Gradient Boomerang

Pattern Suggestion for Handspun Yarn

Radiant Gradient Boomerang by Susan Ashcroft of Stitchnerd Designs on Ravelry

I love working with handspun yarn almost as much as I do making it. Mosaic knitting is one of my favorite ways to highlight a skein of handspun. I pair a solid yarn with a gradient, self-striping, or variegated skein. I love watching the colors change while I work and the solid color accentuates the slow color changes. The resulting fabric looks like stained glass.

Still not convinced? Mosaic looks impressive but is really easy! It is just garter stitch and slipped stitches. For this shawl, I used 1 skein of a gradient handspun with 1 skein of Cascade Heritage yarn in solid gray. The pattern is extremely flexible and works for any weight and any yardage.
What have you been working on this Fall? I'd love to see.
