Great Blue Heron Vase
This vase depicts a Great Blue Heron on alert! Great Blue Herons are easily recognizable birds that are common around any body of fresh water.
The Heron design is done using a technique called Sgraffito. I paint a colored slip on the outside of the vase while the clay is wet. I then carve the design into the slip revealing the white clay underneath. The vase has a cream glaze inside and a glossy clear glaze outside.
Vases look lovely displaying summer bouquets but also just as pretty on their own livening up an empty shelf.
Each vase is hand-thrown and decorated by me and use my handmade ceramic glazes. Vases are dishwasher safe.
Vases are 6” tall and 14 inches at their widest point. They may vary slightly in size because each one is individually handmade.
